a wall of north-facing windows let the light flood in to 700 square feet of space in the historic Troy Laundry Building, built in 1913. the hourly rental studio boasts the textures and tones of the original hardwood floors, as well as exposed brick coated in fresh white. we’ve filled the space with a modern touch of backdrops and props that come complimentary with every rental. come on in and shoot,
we can’t wait to see what you create.

How do
we get in to
the studio?

You will receive a text message from Annie, our studio manager, the night before your reserved appointment with instructions. The studio is located up one and a half flights of stairs; no elevator is available at this time. When you arrive at Suite 208, you'll have access to the door with the August smart lock app. The street level door to the Troy Laundry Building (SE 11th Ave entrance) is open 8am-6pm weekdays, all other hours and weekends you will use the call box to call The Portland Studio to be buzzed in. During your appointment, it is your responsibility to let your clients and team members in at street level.


What if
we need
more time?

After booking, if you realize you may need more studio time, you can e-mail hello@theportlandstudio to make changes and add additional time to your reservation. Additional hours are billed at $40 an hour. You may add more time during your appointment if there is nobody booked right after you.
